The Sports Utility Vehicle (SUV) to webcast rivalry game between UGA Hockey and Georgia Tech

UGA Hockey vs. Georgia Tech - April 9 @ 7:30pm

The SUV is excited to announce its upcoming live webcast of the first ever hockey game in Athens, GA. The host Ice Dogs of the University of Georgia will take on rival Georgia Tech at The Classic Center in Downtown Athens on April 9 at 7:30pm.

The Classic Center Arena located in the recently expanded grand hall will boast seating that surrounds the ice rink on all sides with capacity that will exceed 2,000 with planned additional VIP and other spectator areas.  Noise levels are expected to be very high in the acoustic friendly grand hall that was sold out by March 17. “For close to 20 years we have had the belief ‘if you build it, they will come,’ and selling out the first game in Athens over three weeks in advance of the game certainly vindicates that belief,” long time head coach John Hoos commented on the news of the sell out. “The fan excitement and support thus far has been tremendous!”

The Classic Center in downtown Athens is the new home of the UGA Ice Dogs hockey team. The team will play home games in their 2014-15 season between September and February at The Classic Center Arena. Season tickets will go on sale this spring.

"The SUV embraces the opportunity to be a part of this milestone event for UGA Hockey and its growth up to this point," says Marques Burnett, Founder of the SUV, "The live webcast will allow an even broader audience to be a part of a special night for the Ice Dogs program, players, and the Athens community as a whole."
